The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent allergy alert for Swarna Spice Ltd's Praveen Kumar Vegetable Korma. The product is being recalled because it contains undeclared nuts – almond, cashew and pistachio – which pose a serious health risk to those with nut allergies.
The recall affects the 350g pack size with batch code 49081225 and a use-by date of September 8, 2026. The nuts are not listed on the packaging, meaning the product has incorrect allergy labelling.
The FSA has advised customers who have bought this product and have an allergy to any of these nuts not to eat it. Instead, they should return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund, with no receipt required.
Swarna Spice Ltd has been instructed to contact relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice explaining the reason for the recall and how to return the product.
When a food product poses a risk due to missing or incorrect allergy labelling, the FSA issues an Allergy Alert and may request a withdrawal or recall to protect consumers.
