UK lottery players could be in line for the biggest payday ever on British shores, with a whopping £411 million up for grabs in the Powerball draw on Thursday, August 6. Winning the eye-watering amount would make the lucky winner richer than the Oasis brothers, Noel and Liam Gallagher, who are reportedly worth £375 million.
Powerball Comes to the UK
The mega-popular Powerball, the world's biggest rolling jackpot game, arrived in the UK last month from the US, offering eye-watering prizes every week. UK players can now enter the game, which has already seen 491,662 prizes won, ranging from £8 to £70,195.50.
To be in with a chance, players must buy tickets by 11:55pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, with draws taking place in the early hours of Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Record-Breaking Jackpot
The upcoming draw marks the 40th consecutive rollover, with the longest jackpot run in Powerball history standing at 47 draws, culminating in a $1.817 billion prize won in Arkansas on Christmas Eve last year. Should a UK player win the £411 million, it would comfortably become the largest National Lottery win ever awarded in the UK, eclipsing the current record of £195 million won anonymously on EuroMillions in 2022.
Andy Carter, Senior Winner's Advisor at Allwyn, operator of the National Lottery, said: "The UK is only weeks into its Powerball journey and already players have the chance to play for an estimated £411 million. This is one of the biggest jackpots in Powerball history. This kind of win isn't just life-changing, it's potentially generation-changing."
