Tesco shoppers can use their Clubcard points to save on day trips to theme parks, including Alton Towers Resort. With the school summer holidays underway, families are looking for budget-friendly days out, and Alton Towers – less than two hours from Liverpool by car and around an hour by train – is a popular choice.

Instead of spending Clubcard vouchers in-store, they can be exchanged for an Alton Towers Reward Partner voucher. Tesco allows Clubcard vouchers to be exchanged for up to double their face value. For example, £10 in vouchers can become £20 to spend towards eligible Alton Towers tickets. A one-day advance online ticket for an individual over 90cm starts from £34.

How to redeem the offer

Redeeming the offer is straightforward: sign in to the free Tesco Clubcard account, turn points into vouchers, exchange them for an Alton Towers Reward Partner voucher, receive the booking link by email, and use the voucher when booking eligible tickets online. Shoppers can do this directly inside the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app.

Whether planning to experience iconic rollercoasters like Nemesis Reborn and Wicker Man or enjoy family attractions in CBeebies Land, including the world's first Bluey junior coaster, using Clubcard vouchers is an easy way to save money. Later in the year, Alton Towers Scarefest runs from 26 September through to November with thrills and family-friendly fun.

Shopper tips and experiences

Shoppers should note there’s limited availability when booking with a Reward Partner code on selected bank holiday, school holiday and event dates in 2026, so early booking is recommended. Tesco Clubcard customers need at least 150 points to request a voucher.

Mum-of-two and shopping expert Narin Flanders shared her experience: "Tesco is my regular supermarket where I do a weekly shop each week. I used to just use my Clubcard points to knock money off my bill at the checkout, but a few pounds here and there in the grand scheme of things didn't feel like it was doing much when feeding a family of four."

She added: "I read some Martin Lewis advice on using Clubcard points for days out and over the last few years that's been what I've done. Initially I swapped points for family meals out at places like Pizza Express but I began to wonder if I saved my points up exactly what I could do."

Narin continued: "Last year we did a holiday to Florida and I used double points to book a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel attached to Universal Studios. Not only did we stay as a family of four completely free for a night but we got early access on both days either side of the stay so we could enjoy the rides before the big crowds joined, which was amazing and saved us so much time in queueing."

She also said: "I've just used the Clubcard points I've got since last summer to book a free LeShuttle trip for four of us to France with the car for October half term. It would normally have cost us over £200."

Other ways to save

Another way of saving money on days out is checking for cashback on theme park tickets through TopCashback. At the moment, shoppers can get 2% back at Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures. Registering with Days Out Guide and buying a National Rail Ticket can also get shoppers 33% off online advance ticket prices for Merlin theme parks, including Alton Towers, Legoland and Thorpe Park.

Shoppers interested in Alton Towers can find reviews at TrustPilot. One person said: "A great family day out. Service from the staff is always so friendly. A magical place." Someone else noted: "We love our annual trip to Alton Towers. We always go midweek so the queues are shorter, weekends and half terms are always likely to be busy so we avoid."

A third reviewer wrote: "Brought my toddler on Monday 1 July to CBeebies land and had the BEST day! Didn’t wait longer than 20-25 mins to get on rides and went on them all, a few we even managed to get on twice. Plenty of buggy bays, a slight tight squeeze as a little larger woman but managed all the same."

Another reviewer said: "Amazing couple of days with my family. So much for all ages to do and the entertainment on the field was a welcome rest for my 3-year-old when the older members of our party wanted to go on the thrill rides."
