From Wednesday, October 14, Tesco Clubcard holders can earn points at more than 500 retailers through a new shopping portal, accessible via the Tesco Clubcard app or when logged in to the Tesco website. The expansion means points can be collected on purchases beyond the weekly shop, with some brands offering higher rates, such as Nike providing up to 4 Clubcard points per £1 spent.
How the new portal works
Previously, qualifying purchases mainly came from spending in-store and online with Tesco, including Tesco Mobile customers and those refuelling at petrol stations. Typically, shoppers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent at Tesco, and once 100 points are accumulated, they can be redeemed for rewards. The amount earned in-store is not changing, but the range of places where points can be earned is expanding significantly.
Martin Lewis' MoneySavingExpert team claims that, in some cases, shoppers can earn Clubcard points at even higher rates from certain retailers. In the announcement post about these changes, Tesco highlights that Nike is currently offering up to 4 Clubcard points per £1 spent, meaning £100 spent with them could earn 400 Clubcard points.
Retailers and brands involved
Tesco said: "You'll be able to earn Clubcard points at over 500 retailers through a new shopping portal from Wednesday, October 14, via the Tesco Clubcard app or when logged in to the Tesco website. There, you'll have access to all of the eligible retailers, plus information on how many points you'll be eligible to earn from every pound you spend."
Tesco Group Loyalty and Membership Director Shama Wilson said: "We're really excited to be giving Clubcard members even more ways to collect points on more brands they already know and love. This marks the biggest expansion of the partner brands where customers can collect Clubcard points, with more than 500 brands now available across fashion, beauty, home, travel and more."
Popular brands taking part include Nike, Adidas, H&M, ASOS, Boden, and New Balance in fashion and sportswear; Ticketmaster for entertainment and tickets; Lego, Etsy, Dyson, Halfords, Oliver Bonas, and Selfridges in home, retail and tech; Lookfantastic and Glasses Direct in beauty and health; Trainline and National Express in travel and transport; and BT Broadband and Virgin Media in broadband and telecoms.
Best value for points
Once shoppers have earned enough points, they can be redeemed in a handful of locations. As of October 2026, 100 points can be exchanged for £1 to spend on a Tesco shop, £2 (double the value) at selected retail partners including Disney+, Alton Towers, Railcards, Hotels.com, and Cineworld, or £3 (triple the value) at selected restaurants including Bella Italia, Pizza Express, Las Iguanas, ASK Italian, Frankie and Benny's, Prezzo, and Zizzi.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV, the finance expert said the most savvy way to use this new system was to bank points and spend them at participating restaurants where loyalty rewards will be worth "three times the value".
