A new quiz has been launched to help Brits discover what truly drives their ambitions, as research reveals the nation's top dreams, from travelling the world to becoming a social media influencer.
What Motivates You?
Is it sex, money, or fame that fuels your goals? Take the quiz to find out. A study of 2,000 adults found that Brits' most coveted ambitions include travelling the world (34%), writing a book (19%), launching a business (17%), completing a marathon (11%), becoming an influencer (9%), and even starring in a film (6%).
The research, commissioned by Naked Smoothies, shows that nearly half of participants (47%) cited personal fulfilment as their primary motivator, followed by increasing income (37%) and escaping the nine-to-five grind (17%). Other motivators include proving people wrong (11%) and seeking recognition or attractiveness to a partner.
Barriers to Ambition
Liz Ashdown, spokesperson for Naked Smoothies, said: "Most people are far more ambitious than they admit, often keeping their biggest goals to themselves. Our research shows that fear of judgement and failure continue to hold people back, even when the motivation is there."
Overall, 45% of Brits consider themselves ambitious, but doubts persist. More than half of Gen Zers worry about being laughed at if a goal fails, compared to 41% of Millennials, 31% of Gen X, and 18% of Boomers. A financial safety net (28%), more confidence (17%), and more time (15%) would help most in pursuing ambitions.
