A Pizza Hut customer has managed to 'unlock 1997 prices' after bagging what many are calling the ultimate food deal. The chain, founded in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney, has become a global favourite known for its affordable pizza and family-friendly offers. Despite recent closures of some UK restaurants, Pizza Hut continues to win praise for its lunchtime meal deal.
Reddit User Shares Incredible Find
Taking to Reddit, a user named 'Frankie4FingersRob' shared a photo of his Pizza Hut order on the subreddit MealDealRates, which invites users to rate meal deals. He explained that for just £4.99, he got a two-topping small pizza, a side (such as wedges, garlic bread, or ice cream), and a drink for an extra £1. 'You're all doing it wrong,' he wrote. 'However good you think you're doing, I'm doing better.'

When asked about availability, Rob replied: 'It's under the lunch heading rather than pizza heading, seems to be 12-4pm. Have seen it in a few counties and in London so seems reasonably widespread.'

The news comes after the company behind Pizza Hut's UK restaurants fell into insolvency in October 2025, leading to the closure of 68 restaurants and 11 delivery sites. DC London Pie, the operator of Pizza Hut's UK dine-in restaurants, appointed administrators from FTI. However, a pre-packaged sale of 64 dine-in restaurants and the ROI master franchise operations to Pizza Hut UK helped safeguard 1,277 jobs.
Despite these challenges, the chain's lunchtime deal has reminded customers why it remains a beloved brand for affordable pizza.
