Science-backed skincare brand Medik8 has launched its Black Friday sale, offering 25% off its best-selling Crystal Retinal formula. The 'world first' retinal serum, hailed as a 'gold standard' anti-ageing product, is now available from £33.75 for the most sensitive strength (CR1, usually £45) up to £81.75 for the highest (CR24, usually £109).
The retinoid is a non-negotiable part of This Morning beauty expert Nadine Baggott's nightly routine. The 61-year-old told The Mirror that retinal is 'the strongest form of Vitamin A you can get on the market prior to prescription skincare', and that Medik8's version is her favourite. She praised its almond-like marzipan scent, iconic orange colour, and 'perfect gel cream texture'.
Baggott credits the serum with boosting collagen and elastin production, enhancing hydration, and preventing pigment clumping that causes age spots. The clinically proven formula works 11 times faster than standard retinol, smoothing stubborn wrinkles, brightening dark spots, decongesting and firming skin without irritation. With up to 100 uses per tube, it can last around three months.
The Crystal Retinal has earned an average rating of 4.9 out of five from shoppers. One called it a 'game changer' for her skin, while another noted their skin looked 'clearer, smoother, and noticeably firmer'. Some users reported difficulty with the pump dispenser, but Medik8 says its airless design can appear to stop producing product and that a few extra pumps usually resolves this.
For those preferring retinol, Elizabeth Arden's Retinol + HPR Ceramide Rapid Skin-Renewing Water Cream is available at £77, though it is pricier. Alternatively, No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum costs £34.95 but contains a peptide blend rather than Vitamin A, making it less likely to be as effective. Medik8's sale also includes some of its latest launches.
