British safety officials have issued an urgent recall for the Pro Breeze 2L Air Fryer, warning that a technical fault could cause the appliance to overheat and catch fire. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has urged consumers to stop using the product immediately.
The recall affects model number AF-03-UK, with barcode 5060596022409 and Amazon barcode X0014E52NJ. All batches sold between September 2020 and February 2022 are included, covering serial numbers 20061101, 20061102, 20101001, 20101002, 20120903, 21012603, and 21031540.
The OPSS stated that the air fryer "presents a risk of fire as it is possible for the internal components to overheat and ignite," and does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Pro Breeze has asked customers to unplug the device and return it via a recall registration form on their website.
This is the second fire-risk recall issued by the OPSS in a month, following the ElectriQ CD10L Dehumidifier recall on August 20 due to a circuit board fault. Pro Breeze air fryers typically retail for £90 to £120 on Amazon.
