Home Bargains has issued an urgent recall for Toy Story children's water bottles over fears they pose a choking hazard. The discount retailer has urged customers to stop using the product immediately and keep it out of children's reach.
The recall follows the discovery that the spout can detach from the lid, creating a small part that could block a child's airway. TJ Morris, Home Bargains' parent company, initiated the recall after the product failed to meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
Affected Products and Batch Numbers
The affected bottles went on sale from May this year, coinciding with the release of Pixar's Toy Story 5. Each bottle is blue with a red lid and features characters from the Disney franchise.
The recall covers specific batch numbers: 11449732, 11449736, 11449737, 11449738, 11449742, 11449743, and 11449744. Only these batches are affected. Customers can find the batch code on the care label inside the bottle or on the product's price tag.
Refund and Safety Advice
Anyone who purchased one of the affected bottles is advised to return it to their nearest Home Bargains store for a full refund. Even if customers are unsure whether their bottle is affected or no longer have the packaging to check the batch code, they can still return the product for a refund.
In its recall notice, Home Bargains said: 'We apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
This recall follows a separate 'do not eat' warning on Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps due to undeclared allergens.
