How We Tested

We swapped our usual cookware for the full Hexclad range for two weeks, using each piece in a family kitchen. We assessed non-stick performance, searing and browning, heat distribution, and ease of cleaning. All pans were hand-washed to test cleaning difficulty.

Are Hexclad Pans Worth It?

Hexclad pans offer a compromise between stainless steel's searing capabilities and non-stick convenience. They are expensive but come with a lifetime warranty. If you have the budget and want versatile, durable pans, they are a great investment. However, consider how you cook: if you use one pan for everything, Hexclad's hybrid design covers all bases.

Safety Concerns

Hexclad faced a class action lawsuit over marketing PTFE-coated cookware as PFAS-free. Since 2024, they use a ceramic-based TerraBond coating that is PTFE-free and PFAS-free. Current pans are safe when used as intended. Avoid overheating and replace pans if scratched or chipped.

Care Tips

Season pans before first use by washing, heating, and applying a thin layer of oil. Hand-wash with warm soapy water; avoid the dishwasher to preserve non-stick performance. Use low to medium heat for best results.
