Understanding Your Guardian Weekly Subscription Terms
These subscription terms apply to all Guardian Weekly subscriptions, including Digital + Print and gift subscriptions. They are offered by Guardian News & Media Limited, referred to as "we," "us," or "our." It is essential to read them carefully as they impact your legal rights and liabilities. These terms are subject to any consumer law rights that cannot be waived by contract.
By agreeing to pay for a Guardian Weekly subscription, you accept these terms and conditions along with the Guardian Terms of Service. We recommend printing or saving a copy for future reference. For any queries or assistance, please visit our Help Centre.
What Is Included in Your Subscription?
With a Guardian Weekly subscription, you will receive one copy delivered to your chosen address each week it is published, typically 51 times a year. Your first copy will be based on the publication date shown during checkout.
Additionally, you gain access to Guardian digital benefits, unless you purchase a gift subscription. Details of these benefits are provided on our website during sign-up and in your confirmation email. We may modify these benefits as outlined in section 8. You can start using digital benefits immediately after sign-up by logging in on our website or apps.
Further information is available in your subscription confirmation email and the "Manage My Account" section. If you encounter issues, visit our Help Centre for support.
Signing Up for a Guardian Weekly Subscription
You can sign up online for a Guardian Weekly subscription. If applicable, you will need to download relevant Guardian apps from Apple or Google app stores. As part of the process, you must register for a Guardian account and sign in to access benefits.
Submitting the online form constitutes an offer to subscribe. Acceptance occurs when we send confirmation by email, forming a binding contract. We are not responsible for confirmation failures due to incorrect contact details.
You can correct errors before submitting the form. After submission, information is assumed correct unless updated. Free trials or promotions may be available, with automatic renewal to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period.
We reserve the right to refuse subscriptions for reasons such as suspected fraud. To use Guardian apps, you need minimum device requirements and an internet connection. Updates may be released periodically, and third-party service providers may assist with digital benefits, subject to their terms.
Delivery and Advert-Free Reading
Copies are posted prior to the Friday publication day, but we cannot guarantee Friday delivery in all regions. For persistent delays or missing issues, contact local customer services.
If your subscription includes ad-free reading, sign in across devices to remove advertising on theguardian.com and Guardian apps. This excludes third-party hosted content like videos and podcasts. "Supported by" content remains, as it is editorially independent with third-party funding. "Paid content/Paid for by" content is controlled by advertisers, and we accept no responsibility for it.
Gift Subscriptions and Personal Use
Guardian Weekly gift subscriptions deliver copies to the recipient's address without digital benefits. The purchaser cannot be the recipient and remains responsible for payment. Gift subscriptions are for fixed periods and do not auto-renew.
Your subscription is personal and non-transferable. Sharing may be allowed within limits set in your package, subject to our acceptable use policy. Violations may lead to account locking or cancellation.
Subscription Period, Renewals, and Changes
Subscriptions are available monthly, quarterly, or annually, with automatic renewal unless cancelled. We reserve the right to change benefits, prices, apps, or platforms, with at least 30 days' notice for significant changes. If unhappy, cancel before changes take effect.
Technical adjustments to apps may occur without notice. You can change subscription packages by contacting customer services, effective at the end of your billing period.
Payment, Holidays, and Cancellation
You agree to pay the subscription price shown during checkout. Keep payment information up-to-date; no refunds for access issues due to incorrect details. First payment aligns with your first magazine delivery.
Free trials and promotions are subject to availability and specific terms. You may take up to 6 weeks' holiday from delivery per year, with credits applied to next payments. Digital benefits continue during holidays.
Cancellation is allowed within the first 14 days for a full refund, or anytime thereafter without refund. Notify us before your next payment date. We may cancel for breaches or inability to provide service, with refunds in certain cases.
Responsibility and Customer Services
We are obligated to supply your subscription as per these terms. Liability is limited to 12 times your monthly payment or annual amount, excluding cases like death or personal injury. Statutory consumer rights apply where applicable.
For queries or complaints, contact customer services via email or phone details in our Help Centre. Terms may be updated with 30 days' notice; continued subscription indicates acceptance.
