Greggs Too Good To Go Bag for £2.99 Stuns Mum

A Manchester mum was left stunned by the contents of her Too Good To Go bag from Greggs, and she believes the time of day you collect makes a huge difference. Jo, known as @thismumcooks on social media, purchased one of the earliest bags available at her local Greggs in the morning for just £2.99.

Early Morning Collection

In her TikTok video, Jo explained that many people are unaware that Too Good To Go bags can be collected first thing in the morning. She picked hers up at 10am, but noted it could have been collected as early as 6:30am. She said: 'If you're on your way to work and you fancy a Too Good To Go bag because you haven't got anything for your lunch, it's a certain way that you can save yourself some money.'

Heavy Bag, Amazing Value

Upon collecting the bag, Jo immediately noticed it felt heavier than previous bags from other retailers. The bag was sealed and had been kept in the fridge. She paid £2.99 and expected around £8 worth of items. The first item she pulled out was a cheese and caramelised onion toastie, which she said already surpassed her earlier Costa haul. She then found a tuna mayo and cucumber sandwich, followed by two cheese sandwiches. Jo exclaimed: 'I've got four sandwiches there for £2.99 - that is amazing value. This is an absolute winner - it's definitely the one to beat.'

Greggs Employees Weigh In

Greggs employees responded to Jo's video with their own insights. One worker explained that the morning bags are made from leftovers from the previous evening, and should contain items worth up to £12. They added that everything is kept in a fridge and has the day's date on it. Another commenter noted that Too Good To Go bags are supposed to be a mix of a sandwich, a bake, and sweet treats worth £8-£9, not four sandwiches.

Despite the debate, Jo was delighted with her purchase and plans to test more Too Good To Go bags from different places in a weekly series.
