FreshWipes Intimate Wipes Recalled Over Contamination Risk

FreshWipes Intimate Unscented Wipes have been urgently recalled due to potential microbiological contamination that could cause adverse skin reactions. The recall affects products sold on the FreshWipes website, Amazon UK, TG Jones (formerly WH Smith), TikTok Shop, and QVC.

Reason for Recall

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) issued a recall notice warning that affected batches may be contaminated, with the preservative system not performing as required. This could result in users experiencing adverse skin reactions. The affected batches do not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (the 'Cosmetics Regulation').

Affected Batches

The recall covers FreshWipes Intimate Unscented Wipes with LOT numbers 0926 and 0515. The product is described as a 10-pack of moist wipes, also sold in multipacks and self-care bundles. FreshWipes has stated that no other wipes are affected.

Consumer Guidance

FreshWipes has advised customers to check the batch number printed on the back of the pack. If it reads LOT 0926 or LOT 0515, the product is part of the recall. Consumers should stop using the affected product immediately and contact their place of purchase for instructions on return or disposal and refund or redress.

FreshWipes will offer a free replacement or store credit. Customers who purchased from another retailer should contact them directly to return the product. The company apologised for any inconvenience and remains committed to the safety and quality of its products.

Related Recall

This week, B&Q also issued a recall notice for the White 9 Inch Table Fan, sold between March and July 2026. The fan poses a fire risk as an electrical component may overheat, leading to a fire or electric shock risk. Customers are advised to stop using it and return it to their nearest B&Q store for a refund.
