A newlywed couple have shared their profound devastation after more than half of their wedding guests failed to attend their ceremony, despite 88 people confirming their attendance. The no-shows left the couple facing a staggering financial loss of £22,000, plunging them into severe hardship.

Gray Narvaez-Dragion, a 19-year-old from Iowa who uses they/them pronouns, took to TikTok to express their distress in a tearful video that has since amassed over eight million views. In the emotional clip, Gray disclosed: "88 people said yes... not even 40 showed up." The video showcased the sorrowful sight of an almost empty venue, with rows of vacant tables laid out for guests who never arrived.
The couple, posting under the username @grayanxiety along with partner Nyx, were forced to cancel their sparkler send-off, private dance, and dinner, cutting the entire reception short. Gray revealed: "We cancelled our sparkler send off, private dance, dinner... cut entire reception short. Been in tears for hours over this." They added that they even stumbled during their first dance, with the DJ feeling so bad that he made them use the untouched photobooth to take pictures together.

The hefty wedding expenses have left the couple in dire financial straits. Gray explained: "I can't afford our own food after I got fired and not even half attended. I'm devastated." The couple had invested significant time and money into personalised gifts for guests, including custom-made soap samples and magnets, which now serve as painful reminders of the disappointment.
In a follow-up video, Gray shared: "I spent so much trying to make this enjoyable for everyone. I have magnets and soap gifts made for everyone... and I have so much left. Nyx made spell jars and we were up until 2:30 this morning trying to make this enjoyable for everyone." They added, "Looking at our magnets makes me bawl... I can't even use my custom made soap samples because that makes me cry too."
