Asda Named UK's Cheapest Supermarket for Branded Groceries Again
Asda Retains Cheapest Supermarket Title for Branded Goods

Asda has been named the UK's cheapest supermarket for branded groceries for the third consecutive month, with its standard prices outperforming loyalty card deals at Tesco and Sainsbury's. A Which? analysis of 240 branded items found Asda's basket cost £795.21, making Sainsbury's 17 per cent and Tesco 15 per cent more expensive for shoppers without a loyalty card.

Waitrose Cheaper Than Tesco and Sainsbury's for Non-Loyalty Shoppers

For the third month running, the UK's two biggest supermarkets, Tesco and Sainsbury's, were pricier than Waitrose for branded items for non-loyalty card holders. Asda's prices, available to all shoppers, were even cheaper than the member-only prices at Tesco with a Clubcard (by 3 per cent) and Sainsbury's with a Nectar card (by 6 per cent).

Significant Price Differences Highlighted

Which? highlighted significant price differences, such as Colgate Plax Cool Mint Mouthwash costing £2 at Asda compared to £4.50 at Tesco and Sainsbury's without a loyalty card, a 125 per cent difference. This stark contrast underscores the savings available to shoppers who choose Asda over its competitors.
