Aldi Recalls Crème Brûlée Over Glass Risk

Aldi has initiated a recall of over 2,800 cases of its Specially Selected Vanilla Crème Brûlée due to potential contamination with pieces of glass. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) elevated the recall to a Class II designation on April 28, indicating that consuming the dessert could lead to serious adverse health consequences.

Affected Product Details

The recalled crème brûlée comes in 3.6-ounce glass jars with a use-by date of May 9, 2026. It was sold at Aldi stores across seven states, including Florida, Illinois, and Virginia. Consumers who have purchased the product are urged to either dispose of it immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

No Reported Illnesses

Despite the potential risk, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. Aldi is cooperating fully with the FDA to ensure the affected products are removed from shelves.

Recent Food Safety Alerts

This recall follows other recent food safety alerts. Notably, salmonella-risk dry milk powder was found in various pizzas sold at Aldi and Walmart. Additionally, mislabeled shrimp pasta at Costco posed an allergy risk due to undeclared allergens.
