A TikTok sceptic has been won over by the app's food videos, leading to the purchase of a £99 air fryer. The user, who initially resisted the platform, was drawn in by widespread recipe clips featuring the device.
Air fryers have seen a surge in popularity, with 25 million sold in the past two years. They cook via convection, using hot air instead of oil, resulting in lower fat content according to a 2015 study.
The buyer opted for a Ninja model, noting it was larger than expected and now kept on the washing machine. Despite this, the air fryer proved easy to use, excelling at crisping tofu without deep frying.
Since the purchase, the device has become a staple for quick meals like chips and salmon, with the user praising its convenience and consistent results.
