Guimaraes has increased pressure on Newcastle by informing the club of his desire to join Arsenal this summer. Reports in France suggest the 27-year-old has already agreed terms on a five-year contract with the north London side. However, according to talkSPORT, Newcastle are 'maintaining a not-for-sale stance' regarding their captain.
The Brazil international is believed to have concerns over Newcastle's direction after they failed to qualify for European competition and sold key players Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon this summer. Guimaraes still has two years remaining on his contract at St James' Park, which he signed after his £40 million move from Lyon four years ago.
