Manchester United are on the verge of completing three signings this weekend as their summer transfer activity intensifies. The club is finalising deals for goalkeeper Karl Darlow, midfielder Andrey Santos, and Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
Karl Darlow Set for Free Transfer
Karl Darlow, 35, is expected to join Manchester United on a free transfer after leaving Leeds United at the end of his contract last month. The experienced goalkeeper will serve as backup to Senne Lammens, with three goalkeepers departing Old Trafford this summer. Darlow made 22 Premier League starts for Leeds last season and was offered a new deal at Elland Road, but he is now poised to cross the Pennines and join United.
Andrey Santos Medical Underway
A £50 million deal was agreed with Chelsea earlier this week for Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos, 22. He has been undergoing medical tests and is set to complete his move to United on a five-year deal imminently. Santos could be officially announced as early as today.
Ederson Undergoing Detailed Medical
Atalanta midfielder Ederson, 27, is continuing a detailed medical assessment in Manchester. Initial tests were carried out during the World Cup, and after Brazil's elimination, he travelled to Manchester to finalise his move. Despite reports suggesting the deal could collapse, it remains on track. United have agreed a £35 million fee with Atalanta, with a further £3.8 million in add-ons. Personal terms on a four-year contract with a one-year option have also been agreed.
Goalkeeper Departures
Andre Onana has already returned to Trabzonspor on loan, while Altay Bayindir is expected to complete a permanent move back to Turkey. Radek Vitek will also leave to play first-team football, and United could cash in on the 22-year-old after his impressive loan spell at Bristol City.
