Intense Battle for Wilson
The race for Wilson's signature has been fierce, with Aston Villa also showing interest. Fulham had offered the 29-year-old new terms to stay, but Leeds have emerged as the frontrunners. Reports from Yorkshire indicate that only a medical and final paperwork remain before the move is completed.
Wilson will join a growing Welsh contingent at Elland Road, including Dan James, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, and Karl Darlow.
Leeds' Busy Summer Ahead
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is set for a busy transfer window. The club has been linked with several players, including Japan World Cup goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Parma is seeking at least £26 million for Suzuki, which would set a record fee for a Leeds goalkeeper.
Another target is Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, who spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, helping them gain promotion to League One via the play-offs. Cozier-Duberry has been compared to Arsenal's Bukayo Saka by former coach Jack Wilshere.
Wilshere told The Athletic in 2023: “His super-strengths are his ball-carrying and ability to take people on. He’s an exciting footballer, but [has] loads to learn. Amario is very exciting and Mikel [Arteta] likes him. He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting. In some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen.”
Struijk to Brighton
Meanwhile, Leeds defender Pascal Struijk has agreed a move to Brighton in principle.
