Carnival Cruise Bans 16 for Life After Port Brawl

Carnival Cruise Line has permanently banned 16 passengers following a violent brawl that broke out in a customs queue at Port Miami, Florida, on 22 June 2026. The incident occurred after the Carnival Conquest docked, returning from a voyage to the Bahamas.

Brawl Erupts in Customs Queue

Video footage captured the chaotic scene at approximately 8am on Monday, 22 June. Two women are believed to have started the confrontation: one in a black strapless dress ducked under a queue barrier and began punching another woman wearing polka dot pyjamas. A third woman in a yellow and white maxi-dress then intervened, grabbing one of the women by the hair.

Several other men and women joined the melee as US Customs and Border Protection officers attempted to restore order. Luggage and personal belongings were thrown across the room, and at one point a man brandished a stanchion above his head as onlookers screamed.

Aftermath and Ban

The brawl lasted several minutes before being brought under control. No arrests were made as both parties declined to press charges. A Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Mail that 16 individuals have been added to the company's "Do Not Sail List." The company stated: "The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of US Customs and Border Patrol. We are appreciative of law enforcement's swift response and handling of the matter. We do not tolerate such behaviour."

Previous Incident

This brawl follows a similar altercation aboard another Carnival cruise ship months earlier, where two women fought as the vessel returned to Mobile, Alabama from Nassau, Bahamas. Both women faced federal court summons for simple assault and appeared before US Magistrate Judge Bert Milling Jr in early May. The judge conditionally dropped the case, requiring them to remain arrest-free and have no contact with each other for three months. A final ruling is scheduled for 12 August.
