A British father of 34 has died suddenly while on holiday in Cyprus, prompting a desperate plea from his family to bring him home. Jonas McDowall passed away unexpectedly on June 5, leaving his partner and their eight-year-old daughter.
Family Launches Fundraiser
Heartbroken relatives are now appealing for help to repatriate his body to the UK and support his young family. A GoFundMe page set up by family members has raised over £6,600 towards its £7,500 goal, as reported by NeedToKnow.
In the fundraiser, Jonas's brother George McDowall wrote: "With broken hearts, we are reaching out to ask for help following the sudden and devastating loss of our beloved brother, Jonas, aged 34, who passed away unexpectedly in Cyprus on 5th June."
Tributes to a Loving Father
The appeal describes Jonas from Hemel Hempstead as a "loving son, brother, partner, father and friend who touched the lives of so many people." His family stated that his death has left an "unimaginable void" in their lives.
While dealing with their sorrow, they are also confronted with unforeseen expenses: repatriating his body, organizing a funeral, and providing support to the family he leaves behind.
How Donations Will Help
According to the fundraiser, donations will cover the cost of bringing Jonas home from Cyprus, funeral and memorial expenses, travel costs for relatives involved in the arrangements, and support for his partner and daughter.
The family stated: "Jonas was a kind, caring, and hardworking man who would do anything for the people he loved. He deserved many more years with his family, and while nothing can ease the pain of losing him, we want to give him the dignified farewell he deserves and provide some security for the family he leaves behind."
