Coronation Street star Tony Maudsley has revealed how his colleagues on the ITV soap added an emotional tribute to the set after the recent loss of his beloved dog, Bosie.
The actor, known for playing George Shuttleworth in the Salford-filmed show since 2020, shared the sad news in July, explaining that the dog had died a few weeks earlier but that he had been too heartbroken to post about it at the time.
Heartfelt tribute on the undertakers set
In a video from the show's undertakers set, Maudsley panned his camera to show a photo frame featuring a picture of Bosie that had been digitally altered with AI to give the dog angel wings in a heavenly setting.
Captioning the post, the actor wrote: "No discrimination at Shuttleworth’s. We look after ALL our dearly departed…however many legs they’ve got! Love our art department for doing this."
Co-star and fan reactions
Corrie co-star Georgia Taylor responded to the post, commenting: "Ah this is perfect." Fans also shared their support, with one writing: "@tonymaudsley1 you work with the best of the best. How lovely." Another added: "Aww lovely Tony. Bosie in pride of place."
Earlier, Maudsley had revealed a portrait tattoo of Bosie, created by Marko Prenger at @handofhopetattoo, the brother of his "telly sister" Jodie. He explained: "Bosie will now walk with me everywhere, sitting just above my ankle, forever."
