The UK Government has confirmed the remaining bank holidays for 2026, with one taking place next month. Millions of workers across the UK enjoy bank holidays as part of their standard employment contracts, while schools also shut their doors for the day.
Remaining Bank Holidays in 2026
While different nations within the UK frequently have differing bank holiday dates, some remain consistent across the country. There are six bank holidays remaining between now and the end of the year, though not every part of the UK will observe all of them.
July
The next bank holiday falls on Monday, July 13, when Northern Ireland marks the Battle of the Boyne (substitute day).
August
After that, Scotland observes its Summer bank holiday on Monday, August 3, while the rest of the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) will celebrate their Summer bank holiday on Monday, August 31.
November
Later in the year, Scotland alone will benefit from a bank holiday on Monday, November 30, for St Andrew's Day.
December
The whole of the UK will then observe a bank holiday for Christmas Day on December 25, followed by a substitute bank holiday for Boxing Day on Monday, December 28. This substitute day has been introduced due to Boxing Day falling on a Saturday this year.
