Tottenham accept Brighton's £50m bid for Luka Vuskovic

Tottenham Hotspur have accepted an offer from Brighton & Hove Albion for highly-rated defender Luka Vuskovic, according to Standard Sport. The deal is worth an overall package of £50 million, comprising £46 million up front and £4 million in achievable add-ons.

Deal Terms and Sell-On Clause

In addition to the transfer fee, Spurs have secured a 20% sell-on clause and matching rights, ensuring they can match any future offer for the player. The agreement was reached after Brighton met Tottenham's valuation, which happened sooner than expected.

Vuskovic's Focus on World Cup

Vuskovic, regarded as one of Europe's brightest young defenders, had been focused on Croatia's World Cup campaign. Croatia, who finished second in Group L after a 2-1 win over Ghana, are set to face Portugal in the round of 32. Standard Sport reported that Vuskovic's future was to be resolved after the tournament, but the offer accelerated the process.

Speaking at the start of the World Cup, Vuskovic said: "For now, I’m focused only on the World Cup. My goal next season is to play for a club that wants me and where I will play. We’ll see what happens in the coming days and weeks."

Why Vuskovic Left Tottenham

After talks with Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, it became clear that Vuskovic could not be guaranteed consistent first-team minutes. De Zerbi has prioritized experience and leadership in his backline, having already signed centre-backs Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton this summer.
