Tottenham have agreed a deal worth up to £85 million for Manchester City winger Savinho, according to Standard Sport. The Brazilian is now set to undergo a medical before committing his long-term future to the club.
Deal details and club record
Standard Sport understands Spurs have agreed to pay £75 million for Savinho, with an additional £10 million in performance-related add-ons, £5 million of which are considered highly achievable. It will be a club-record sale for City, and the third time this summer that Spurs have spent £85 million or more on a player. Their club-record signing before the window was the £65 million spent on Dominic Solanke two years ago.
Long-term target finally secured
Savinho has been a long-term target of Tottenham, who tried and failed to sign him last summer. City rejected a Spurs bid in 2025, deciding they wished for the Brazilian to stay with them throughout the 2025-26 campaign. However, Savinho struggled for game time and now, a year on, is being allowed to leave. Palmeiras winger Allan Elias has reportedly been identified as a replacement for Savinho.
After the season ended, Savinho and his representatives were clear that more game time in the season ahead was a priority for the Brazil international. The 22-year-old must be registered before 12pm on Friday to be in contention to make his debut in Spurs’ opening game of the new Premier League season, against Brentford, on Saturday night.
Further City targets and summer spending
Spurs are now prepared to move on to securing their second City target of the summer. They are in talks to sign Savinho’s City team-mate Omar Marmoush. Tottenham are also interested in Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, but it remains to be seen whether they would look to advance that deal if they managed to secure Marmoush as well as Savinho. Their summer spending will reach the £300 million mark once Savinho’s move is finalised.
