Slice Restaurant in Swansea to Close After 13 Years
Slice Restaurant in Swansea to Close After 13 Years

One of Wales' most acclaimed restaurants, Slice in Sketty, Swansea, has announced it will close permanently in October. The restaurant, run by chefs Chris Harris and Adam Bannister, has been a fixture on the city's dining scene since 2014 and has earned recognition in the Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide.

End of an Era

Slice, located on Eversley Road, will serve its last meal on October 25. The owners made the announcement on Thursday evening, describing it as a "privilege" to have served the community for 13 years. The decision comes as Chris Harris prepares to undergo heart surgery, leaving Adam Bannister and Lyndsay to manage the restaurant during the transition.

From August 27, after a two-week break, Slice will offer only its tasting menu for dinner service until the final closure. The restaurant will continue normal operations until August 8.

Award-Winning Legacy

Since opening, Slice has been a staple in Swansea's culinary landscape. In 2015, Adam Bannister won the Welsh title on BBC's Great British Menu and competed again in 2016. The restaurant has consistently been praised for its quality and consistency.

Customers have expressed devastation at the news, calling it a "sad day" for the city. However, the owners hinted at a new project in the works, saying, "We are working on a new concept that will allow us to spend more time with our boys while remaining part of this community."

Slice is not the only top Swansea restaurant undergoing change. The owners of Truffle have also announced plans to sell their business to focus on family.
