Scottish Premiership clubs are making significant moves in the summer transfer window, with Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibernian, and Aberdeen all active. Celtic have secured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a new one-year deal and are closing in on Colombian striker Camilo Duran from Qarabag, who is undergoing a medical. The Hoops are also linked with giant forward Tobias Lauritsen, available on a free transfer. Scott McDonald has urged Celtic to move for Motherwell's World Cup star Elijah Just, while Boca Juniors rejected another loan approach for Marcelo Saracchi. Off the pitch, Hearts set-piece specialist Ross Grant is joining Brendan Rodgers' backroom team.
Rangers Transfer Activity
Rangers continue to dominate the transfer chatter after already making five signings. More arrivals are on the cards, with defender Sankhoun Diawara and Partizan Belgrade midfielder Vanja Dragojevic among the names linked. Manager Derek McInnes faces decisions over his bloated squad, with Nico Raskin and Emmanuel Fernandez attracting interest, while Youssef Chermiti has emerged as a target for Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
Lewis Ferguson to Rangers Speculation
Bologna remain keen on Rangers midfielder Connor Barron, which could play into a potential deal for Lewis Ferguson. The Serie A side maintained a long-term interest in Barron when he left Aberdeen for Ibrox in 2024. Bologna asked Barron to hold off, but he couldn't due to Rangers' offer. They have continued to watch the Scotland international closely and made an approach last season, rebuffed by former sporting director Kevin Thelwell. The player's camp is aware of ongoing interest. Meanwhile, Dominic Ball believes Rangers landing Ferguson would be a "statement signing" and a solid foundation, noting the relationship built between McInnes and Ferguson at Aberdeen. The Ibrox outfit have enquired about signing the Bologna midfielder, though a financially challenging deal.
Celtic's Striker Search
Celtic have gone 18 months and 525 days without a solution to their Kyogo Furuhashi conundrum. Eight forwards have arrived to replace the talismanic number eight, but none have come close to filling the void left by his 85 goals in 165 appearances. Kelechi Iheanacho had intelligence and finishing touch but lacked fitness and speed. Camilo Duran is seen as a potential answer to this persistent problem.
Other Club Updates
Hearts remain active, while Hibernian have completed the signing of midfielder Azeem Abdulai. Aberdeen's busy summer shows no sign of slowing down, although Nicolas Milanovic and Alexander Jensen look set to leave. Follow all the latest transfers on our LIVE blog.
