Rangers deny bid for Westerlo's Bryan Reynolds amid right-back search
Rangers deny bid for Bryan Reynolds

Rangers are interested in Westerlo defender Bryan Reynolds but have not tabled a bid, contrary to reports in Europe that a £2million-plus offer had been turned down. Ibrox sources have denied making any formal approach for the USA international.

Right-back priority for Rangers

A right-back is a priority position for manager Danny Rohl after captain James Tavernier departed at the end of the season. The recruitment team, headed by Dan Purdy, have been speaking to agents and players to identify potential targets.

Blackburn's Ryan Alebiosu has also been linked with a move to Ibrox, but that speculation has also been dismissed. Rangers are working on several potential right-back options, with Reynolds among them, but negotiations have yet to progress to the next stage.

Reynolds' background

The 24-year-old full-back is entering the final year of his contract. He came through at FC Dallas before moving to Roma, where he struggled to make an impact. Loan spells at Kortrijk and Westerlo followed, with the Belgian club signing him permanently in 2023. Reynolds is a former teammate of Tuur Rommens, who Rangers signed from Westerlo in January.

Rangers' summer business

So far, Rangers' only signing has been Scotland star Lawrence Shankland from Hearts. The club is working on multiple fronts, with Dundee's Luke Graham another target they hope to lure to Ibrox this summer. The Dundee defender has several options in England and across Europe.
