Man United Can Seal Onana Transfer Imminently as Club Chief Says 'Financial Demands Met'
Man United Can Seal Onana Transfer Imminently

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has confirmed that the club has met Andre Onana's financial demands, signalling that a permanent move for the Manchester United goalkeeper is imminent. The Cameroon international spent last season on loan with the Turkish Super Lig side, helping them secure a Europa League spot and winning the Turkish Cup.

Onana's Future at Old Trafford

Reports suggest Onana is keen to return to Manchester United and compete with Senne Lammens for the number one goalkeeper position. However, Lammens impressed during the previous campaign and has made the spot his own. Trabzonspor are eager to make Onana's stay permanent, while fellow Super Lig club Besiktas are reportedly interested in hijacking the deal.

Financial Details and PSR Considerations

Manchester United need to sell Onana for approximately £20 million to avoid a loss under the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Although a transfer fee has not yet been agreed between the clubs, Dogan is confident that terms with the player will not be an issue.

Speaking to Ajansspor, Dogan stated: "I think Andre Onana will stay with the team. We've met his financial demands. The fans like him too. He's a decent bloke. I don't think we'll have any problems. I don't think he'll find the same level of interest in him anywhere else. So I think he'll stay with the team."

Dogan's Previous Comments

Last week, Dogan expressed a desire to reach an agreement "in the coming days" and told HT Spor: "As we said, we're trying to act quickly. We're adding these players to our squad one by one. Transfers will continue in the coming days. We were thinking of 5-6 transfers, but it looks like we'll go to a higher number."

When specifically asked about Onana, Dogan added: "We speak with Andre Onana almost every day. He loves it here. We want him to stay, but of course everyone has their own life and plans. We have to respect that. I don't think we'll have any problems in the coming days. But if we do, the management will do what's necessary. We'll find another goalkeeper of the same quality."

Onana became a fan favourite during his loan spell at Trabzonspor, and his performances have made him a key target for the club's permanent transfer plans.
