Elle Macpherson's Sons Star at Groundbreaking of $1bn 1888 Studios in New Jersey
Macpherson's Sons at Groundbreaking of Major NJ Film Studio

The sons of supermodel Elle Macpherson took centre stage at a pivotal moment for American cinema this week. Flynn and Cy Busson stood alongside their financier father, Arpad 'Arki' Busson, to break ground on the colossal 1888 Studios complex in Bayonne, New Jersey.

A Vision for a New Entertainment Powerhouse

The ceremony marked the official start of construction on what is slated to become one of the largest film production facilities in the United States. Chaired by Arki Busson, 62, the 58-acre waterfront site is a billion-dollar endeavour designed to attract Hollywood-level projects to the East Coast.

"This is the realisation of a bold vision to establish a global entertainment powerhouse," declared Busson, who was once in a long-term relationship with Elle Macpherson. He acknowledged the crucial support from state and local officials, including Governor Phil Murphy and Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis.

The studio's scale is immense. Plans include 23 state-of-the-art sound stages, a vast 22-acre water backlot for aquatic filming, and over a million square feet of dedicated production space. In a major coup for the development, Paramount Studios has already committed to a 10-year lease covering more than 285,000 square feet.

Flynn Busson: Building a Legacy Beyond the Spotlight

While their famous mother was not present, her sons played prominent roles. Flynn Busson, 26, shared a celebratory photo on social media with his father in front of the 1888 Studios signage, simply captioned "Congratulations!"

Flynn is far more than just an observer; he is deeply embedded in the project's success. As the Vice President of Business Development, he is a key member of the ownership team. His responsibilities span the project's design, daily operations, finance, and investor relations.

He has also been instrumental in political strategy, helping to shape New Jersey's film and television tax credit programme to make the state a more competitive destination for major productions. A licensed pilot and Babson College graduate, Flynn is carving a significant business path, dividing his time between London, New York, and Miami.

Continuing a Family Tradition of High-Profile Endeavours

The event highlighted how the next generation is stepping into the limelight. Earlier this year, Flynn went public with his romance with Hanna Woolf, 27, the daughter of aerospace executive Jared Woolf, sharing romantic images on social media.

This move continues a family tradition of high-profile partnerships, following his father's past relationships with figures like supermodel Claudia Schiffer and actress Uma Thurman. With the 1888 Studios project now underway, set to take several years to complete, the Busson family is firmly positioning itself at the heart of the future of film production in North America, blending business acumen with a touch of celebrity legacy.
