Liverpool FC Grants £140,000 to Community Groups via Anfield Concerts
Liverpool FC Donates £140,000 to Local Groups from Concerts

Liverpool FC has confirmed that 20 organisations have received grants totalling £140,000 through the Red Neighbours Community Fund, which is supported by the LFC Foundation and funded by non-football events at Anfield Stadium. The fund was first launched in 2020 to assist local groups with ideas for lasting projects in the Anfield area.

Funding from Concerts

The grants follow a commitment from Liverpool FC to donate to a community grant fund each time a concert or major non-football event is held at Anfield, with the money reinvested locally. The fund prioritises charities and not-for-profit organisations whose activities align with the Foundation's objectives in health, learning, and employment.

Previous and Current Beneficiaries

Initial grants in 2022 funded a new cinema for young families and supported a local Bowling Club. This year, funds will address food insecurity through Christ Church PPC, one of the 10 most deprived parishes in England. The Community Basket CIC will provide affordable essentials at its community-run food shop in Anfield. Rage Performing Arts CIC will launch a 12-week programme for young females, LGBTQ+ youth aged 11-18, and those up to 25 with SEND needs. Reel in the Community will offer fishing sessions led by a wellbeing coach for people with mental health challenges. Liverpool Community Radio will combat social isolation through media training and inclusive hospitality. SS Development Academy CIC will provide a free football and mentoring programme called Goals Beyond the Games. Vauxhall Law and Community Information Centre will offer free legal advice on debt, housing, and welfare.

CEO Statement

Matt Parish, CEO of LFC Foundation, said: 'As a charity our primary aim is to fundraise directly to support our own participants, however it’s also vital we support neighbouring community initiatives and partners through our Red Neighbours programme and specifically our Red Neighbours community fund. Working in partnership is crucial to long-term success and there are some unbelievable organisations in and around the Anfield area and beyond who do some life-changing work that aligns with our own mission, and I am thrilled we are able to play a small part in making a further difference in our community.'
