Katie Price breaks silence on husband Lee Andrews' Dubai arrest over dog
Katie Price speaks on Lee Andrews' Dubai arrest over dog

Katie Price has finally addressed her husband Lee Andrews' latest arrest in Dubai, but focused on the wellbeing of their new dog rather than his legal troubles. The former glamour model, 48, took to Instagram on Sunday to reassure fans about the fate of Dubaii, a Pomsky puppy the couple purchased less than two weeks ago.

Dog update amid husband's detention

Lee Andrews was reportedly taken to Lahbab Police Station in Dubai on Friday, marking his second arrest in weeks. A friend told The Sun that Lee messaged them confirming his arrest and suggesting Katie might need to bail him out or start a GoFundMe. He is believed to owe £120,000, just weeks after being released from Al Awir prison where he spent four weeks over separate financial matters.

Unlike the first arrest, when Katie made desperate pleas online, this time she remained quiet until Sunday. She reposted a statement from friend and reporter Clemmie Moodie, who wrote: 'Loads of you have been asking if Dubai-ii is ok – and as [a] dog owner and lover, I was worried, too. But I've checked in with Katie and she has told me Dubai-ii is happy, healthy, and with her best friend. He is coming to the UK in the next couple of days, I am told.'

Pet transport complications

Bringing Dubaii to the UK may prove challenging. The UAE is classified as a 'non-listed third country' under UK pet travel regulations, meaning the dog must travel as manifested air cargo, not in the cabin or as excess baggage. A UK-based agent must oversee customs entry, and the government requires approved routes, pet travel documents, vaccinations, and ownership paperwork. Lee also has a travel ban, which could complicate matters.

Katie and Lee bought Dubaii from World of Pets in a Dubai mall, sharing a video of the purchase. Katie said: 'Just like we signed for our marriage, we've signed for our baby.' Lee added: 'We're new owners of this baby boy.' Despite buying from a pet store, they insisted they had 'rescued' him.

Animal welfare backlash

The purchase sparked outrage given Katie's history with pets. Peta UK's senior vice president Mimi Bekhechi told Metro: 'Is there no low to which Katie Price will not stoop? While one of her cats, Doris, is reportedly still missing, instead of being worried sick and out searching for her, as any caring, responsible guardian would, she has flown to another country and acquired a new dog, as easily as one replaces a pair of socks.'

Bekhechi added: 'A Pomsky of all animals, in the Dubai heat, to add insult to injury. How many animals have been lost, discarded, or have died under her so-called “care” before authorities ban her from keeping animals? Peta's £5,000 offer for her to stop collecting animals still stands, and we implore her to take us up on it – for the sake of Doris, this puppy, and any other animals unfortunate enough to cross her path.'

Katie's pet tragedies

Katie's history includes numerous animal deaths: her horse was killed on the A24 in 2017; dog Queenie hit by a car in 2018; chameleon Marvin allegedly died of a broken heart in 2018; Alsatian Sparkle hit by a car in 2020; puppy Rolo suffocated in 2020; Pomeranian Sharon hit by a car in 2022; dog Blade run over in 2023; and in August 2025, cat Doris gave birth to a premature kitten that did not survive. Lee also claimed one of her eight Sphynx cats had 'just passed away'.

Lee's legal and financial troubles

Lee's arrest stems from an alleged unpaid luxury hire car bill from 2022 worth around £54,000, plus an alleged £15,000 debt to a law firm. He has been using Cameo to raise cash, and previously claimed he was arrested for suspected 'espionage'. He also faces accusations from exes of being a 'narcissistic love-bomber' and scamming women out of thousands of pounds. Despite promising to get 'answers' after his first release, Katie has stayed by his side.
