Cassie takes deadly action against Ross in Coronation Street

Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) is set to take deadly action against Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) in upcoming Coronation Street episodes, as her traumatic past resurfaces. After discovering that Ross is Tyrone Dobbs' (Alan Halsall) biological father, Cassie becomes determined to expose him as a dangerous predator.

Cassie's dark past revealed

When Cassie was in her early teens, she was forced into prostitution by the wrong crowd. One of her clients was Ross, who made her pregnant with Tyrone. Cassie gave birth, but her mother Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) left the baby on a police station doorstep, leading to Tyrone's adoption by Jackie and Darren.

Recently, Cassie unknowingly got drunk with Ross at the bar, only realising his identity after he left. Their interaction turned sour when Ross spoke badly to her after she had consumed alcohol. Days later, Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) and Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor) tracked Ross down via DNA testing and introduced him to Tyrone.

Cassie's plan to expose Ross

Struggling to be near Ross due to what he did to her, Cassie devises a plan to prove he is bad news. She uploads a picture of him to an app where users can post reviews of ex-boyfriends, hoping to find horror stories to show Tyrone. She tells Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) about her scheme, but he advises her to delete it. However, Cassie may not listen.

If Ross discovers what Cassie is doing, she could be in danger ahead of Claire Sweeney's exit from the show. The storyline builds towards a dramatic climax as Cassie faces the wrath of a demon.

Tyrone's growing bond with his father

Meanwhile, Tyrone is initially hopeful about meeting his father. Actor Alan Halsall said: 'At first, Tyrone really tries—he even goes and plays golf with him, despite having a horrendous back injury. He eventually starts to see a father figure there; he's an imposing chap, but quite laid back. Tyrone starts to think, “Actually, this guy seems all right, and I could go for a beer with my dad.” It’s a shame he wasn’t in his life, and he starts to understand the circumstances of why that was the case.'

But Halsall teased that this dynamic may not last: 'He looks at his dad and thinks, “I’ve got a father in my life now, and nothing can go wrong.” But we know that’s not the case, certainly in Tyrone’s life. He knows full well what kind of trouble and lies this guy could bring to his doorstep.'

As Cassie's deadly plan unfolds, Tyrone's relationship with Ross faces an uncertain future.
