Manchester City are reportedly considering no longer pursuing a deal to sign Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson this summer. The Premier League champions have already seen a substantial bid rejected for the England international as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
Record Bid Rejected
City had a £105million initial offer for Anderson turned down by Forest, with the proposal also including £15million in add-ons. If a deal had been agreed, the overall fee offered by City would have exceeded the £105million Arsenal paid West Ham to sign Declan Rice in 2023.
City Weighing Options
Now, though, it is being reported that City are weighing up whether or not to walk away from a potential deal to sign Anderson after their bid was rejected by Forest. The club may now explore alternative targets to bolster their midfield ahead of the new season.
