Liverpool have officially parted ways with 12 players as contracts expired at midnight, marking a significant squad overhaul under manager Andoni Iraola. The high-profile exits of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate headline the departures, reducing the club's weekly wage bill by £710,000.
Three High-Profile Exits
Mohamed Salah, who signed a two-year extension in 2025, was reportedly earning £400,000 per week. Andy Robertson, set to join Tottenham Hotspur, took home £160,000 weekly, while Ibrahima Konate, now moving to Real Madrid, earned £150,000 per week. The trio's departures alone save Liverpool £710,000 weekly.
Academy and Other Departures
Academy graduates Kareem Ahmed, Emmanuel Airoboma, James Balagizi, DJ Bernard, Oakley Cannonier, Josh Davidson, Terence Miles, and Jacob Poytress have also left. Defender Rhys Williams, who played a key role during the 2020/2021 injury crisis, has departed as well.
New Signing: Victor Munoz
Liverpool have completed the £34.5 million signing of Spanish winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna, spread over a six-year contract at £5.75 million per year. Munoz, who made two senior appearances for Real Madrid and became a full Spain international, cited Iraola's influence in his decision: "I've been focused on the World Cup, so I didn't want to hear much about my future unless it was something clear. Liverpool is an opportunity you can't miss. It all took place very quickly. Iraola transmitted his confidence to me, how his team plays. He had an important role when it came to choosing."
Contract Offers Extended
Liverpool have offered new contracts to Prince Cisse, Keyrol Figueroa, Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O'Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman, and Matthew Wright. A club statement thanked departing players: "Everybody at the club would like to thank the players for all their contributions and wish each of them the best for the future."
Missed Transfer Target
The Reds missed out on Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, who reportedly prefers a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
