Blackpill Lido in Swansea has closed again due to water quality issues, marking another setback for the popular attraction.
Recent history of closures
The lido has been closed multiple times this year. Its summer opening was postponed in April after thieves stole four stainless steel water fountain sprinklers. It was then taped off and drained on May 26 because of damage to the pool flooring.
The site finally reopened on July 14, but now Swansea Council has announced a temporary closure to improve water quality.
Council statement
A council spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, we need to close access to Blackpill Lido temporarily, in order to improve the water quality. Recent water quality testing has shown the need for a slight improvement."
The spokesperson added: "We anticipate the closure will be short and will reopen as soon as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause."
