The Met Office has issued a new forecast indicating another hot spell will hit the UK next week, with temperatures potentially reaching 36C in parts of England.

According to the latest weather maps, the hot weather is expected between August 12 and August 15, but warm conditions could arrive as early as August 8. The national forecaster's outlook for that period says "for the most part, temperatures look to remain above average, especially in the south, and perhaps turning very warm or hot."
Regional Variations
The forecast covers the entire UK, from Northern Ireland and Scotland to southern England and Wales. Northern areas are expected to see temperatures in the mid-20s, while southern coastal regions could soar above 30C, reaching up to 36C. Scotland and Northern Ireland may enjoy milder conditions, while the south of England is likely to be the warmest, with peaks between 34C and 36C.

The Met Office's full forecast states: "Relatively settled start to the period, with mainly dry conditions on Monday, although with scattered showers across northern areas." It adds: "Then through the following week, more changeable conditions are likely across northwestern parts, with some spells of rain and stronger winds interspersed by drier periods."
This heatwave follows a summer of record-breaking temperatures in May and June, with frequent days of 30C or more. The Met Office has described July as a "historic" month in terms of dryness, sunshine, and exceptional warmth.
