
The Met Office has issued urgent weather warnings as torrential rain is set to batter parts of Scotland and northern England, raising fears of flooding and travel chaos.
Forecasters have placed a yellow warning for rain across much of Scotland, including Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as parts of northern England, with up to 100mm of rainfall expected in some areas.
Travel Disruption Expected
Rail operators, including LNER and Avanti West Coast, have warned passengers of potential delays and cancellations due to the adverse conditions. Road users are also being advised to check for flood warnings before travelling.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued flood alerts for several regions, urging residents to prepare for possible flooding. Emergency services are on standby to respond to any incidents.
