Gran's 'flirty ghost' bra strap prank caught on CCTV

A grandmother has claimed a “flirty” ghost “pinged her bra strap” during a visit to a haunted museum in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Julie Staniland said the spirit carried out the prank in front of her husband on September 26 at the Haunted Objects Museum.

Bra strap pulled in 'Demon room'

The married couple, known as Spookseekers Paranormal, were walking around the property with daughter Amy to scope out their surroundings and turn on all the lights. As they entered the 'Demon room' upstairs, Julie claims her bra strap was pulled by a flirtatious spirit.

CCTV footage shows husband Roger saying the name 'Annabelle' while pointing at the Conjuring-inspired rag doll sitting in a glass cupboard. Moments later a loud “twang” is heard and the 52-year-old jumps back and grabs her shoulder after feeling her bra dislodged.

In shock, the gran-of-three looks around the room for an explanation, but the trio are all left bewildered when no culprit can be found.

'It was so quick and unexpected'

Julie, from Leeds, West Yorkshire, said: "As we were standing in the room, I could feel something from behind me pull my bra strap and let it go. It was so quick and unexpected as we hadn't even started the investigation at this point, it could have been from anything in that room."

She added: "It was so loud it was such a shock, I found it quite funny and took me by surprise. I think it was a spirit in the room giving us a sign, it was so bizarre that it went for my bra strap. I've never had that happen before in all the time I've been doing it. It's obviously a spirit targeting ladies if it did this to my bra strap. It's 100% a spirit that's into women, it seemed like the spirit was being a bit flirty."

Julie said her husband and daughter were so shocked as they heard it snap so clearly. After the spiritual encounter, the mum-of-three reached out to Lee Steer, owner of the museum, and asked him to watch back the CCTV footage of their visit.

Museum owner says spirits 'scratch and burn'

Lee said the 'Demon room' is full of 'dangerous' spirits and said the ghost likes to express her presence in 'extreme' ways. The 33-year-old said she has been known to 'scratch and burn' people in the past who have entered this room and that it's mostly women who are targeted.

Lee, from Rotherham in South Yorkshire, said: "In The Haunted Objects Museum we have a room called the 'Demon room'. This is where our most dangerous spirits are kept. In this room we have many items and dolls and boxes that are meant to contain demonic entities. Many people who have visited that room have left with scratches. In one month, five people have visited our museum and left with scratches or burns. On this occasion it feels the spirit got a little closer in a different way. It is mainly females that get targeted in the 'Demon room'."
