Firefighters are tackling a large fire at an industrial building on Chew Valley Road in Greenfield, Saddleworth, this morning (August 16).
Smoke and cordon in place
Residents have reported seeing huge plumes of smoke in the area. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said the fire started at an industrial premises near to the Tesco supermarket in the village.
A cordon is in place, and people are advised to avoid the area if possible. Due to the amount of smoke, residents are urged to keep their windows and doors closed.
