Emergency crews were called to Stoneyfield Quarry in the Longhaven area of Peterhead at around 3.10pm on Saturday, and firefighters are now tackling a large blaze at the site.

Police have closed the road between Auchiries and Cairn Catto and are advising people to avoid the area.

Drone footage shows thick black smoke billowing from a building in the quarry, with flames clearly visible inside.

Public advised to keep away

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services are in attendance following a fire in Longhaven, Peterhead, at Stoneyhill Quarry, which was reported around 3.10pm on Saturday, 1 August, 2026. Road closures are in place between Auchiries and Cairn Catto. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area at this time"
