An easyJet flight travelling from Lisbon declared an emergency as it approached Manchester Airport, with fire crews meeting the aircraft on the runway.
Flight tracking data shows the plane, flight EZY72NL/U22210, initially descended towards the airport before climbing back to a higher altitude and entering a holding pattern near Ashton. It then landed and was met by fire crews on the taxiway.
Possible flap issue
According to reports, it is understood that a flap may have become stuck and did not deploy on approach to Manchester. The plane has since been able to taxi towards the gate with all passengers on board.
Flight tracking data showed an unusual flight pattern due to the issue before the plane touched down at Manchester Airport late on Monday evening, August 3.
Manchester Airport and easyJet have been approached for further comment on the incident.
