A 52-year-old Italian woman was seriously injured after being thrown to the ground by the jet blast of an aircraft as it departed from Skiathos Airport in Greece, according to state broadcaster ERT.
Incident at plane-spotting spot
The woman was standing near a road adjacent to the airport, a location known for plane spotting, when the powerful winds from the aircraft's engines during takeoff knocked her down. She suffered severe head injuries.
Medical response and transfer
She was taken to the Polyiatreio medical centre, where she received a CT scan, before being airlifted to Volos General Hospital for further treatment. The incident remains under investigation.
