Virgin Voyages' luxury cruise ship Valiant Lady docked in Liverpool this morning, August 9, as part of its 16-day tour of the UK and Iceland. The 110,000-tonne vessel, measuring 278 metres in length, arrived at the city's waterfront and will remain moored until 7pm, when it sets sail for Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Tour itinerary and ship details
The cruise began in Portsmouth on August 5, with previous stops in Dublin, Ireland, and Greenock-Glasgow in Clydeport, Scotland. After departing Liverpool, the ship will head to Iceland, visiting Siglufjordur, Isafjordur in the Westfjords, and the capital, Reykjavik. The return journey starts on August 18, with a stop in Edinburgh before arriving back in Portsmouth on August 20.
The 17-deck Valiant Lady is the second ship in Virgin Voyages' boutique luxury fleet, which is adults-only. It can accommodate over 2,700 passengers and more than 1,100 crew members, with 1,330 cabins and 78 RockStar Quarters. Notable features include a rooftop bar, private karaoke booths, an arcade, a casino, a vinyl record store, a spa, an outdoor yoga studio, a jogging track, and multiple restaurants.
Ship's history and previous visits
The Valiant Lady first sailed in March 2022, having previously visited Liverpool ahead of its maiden voyage. Since then, it has called at destinations including Barcelona, Provence (Marseille), Cannes, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Tuscany, Corsica, Málaga, Funchal, Madeira, Miami, and Florida. Its home ports are in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Miami, USA.
