The United Kingdom is home to some of the most stunning coastlines in Europe, and now nine of its beaches have been officially recognized among the best on the continent. According to a new ranking by holiday home letting agency Holidu, which analyzed thousands of Google Maps reviews, the UK boasts a remarkable nine beaches in the top 25 for 2026.
Welsh Beaches Lead the Way
Wales emerged as a standout destination, with three beaches securing spots in the prestigious list. Barafundle Bay Beach in Pembrokeshire claimed an impressive second place overall, often referred to as the 'Welsh Caribbean' for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and unspoilt golden sand. Its isolated position, backed by dunes and pine trees, offers a serene escape with nothing but the sound of waves and stunning coastal views.
Another Welsh gem, Traeth Mwnt in Ceredigion, also made the top 10. This hidden sandy cove, nestled among mountains, is a prime spot for wildlife, particularly dolphin sightings, and is popular for family days out.
Devon and Other UK Shores Shine
Devon's Woolacombe Beach also earned a top-10 ranking, known for its miles of soft sand against rolling dunes, pristine waters ideal for surfing, and sweeping views across to Lundy Island. Other UK beaches in the top 25 include Dunraven Bay in Glamorgan, Trebarwith Beach and Bigbury Beach in Devon, Cuckmere Haven in East Sussex, Man O'War Beach in Dorset, and Benone Beach in County Londonderry.
Notably, Cornwall, often celebrated for its coastline, did not make the cut this year.
