Beavertown experts have ranked the UK's best country walks by analysing user ratings and reviews of popular walking tracks. The Seaford to Eastbourne route in East Sussex tops the list with a 4.8-star rating across more than 2,000 reviews.
Top-rated coastal route
The 21.7km coastal path is rated "hard" and takes around six hours to complete. Walkers are rewarded with views over the Seven Sisters cliffs and Beachy Head before the trail drops into Eastbourne, where there are plenty of cosy pubs.
Peak District and Yorkshire highlights
Second place goes to the Derbyshire Grindsbrook Clough and Grindslow Knoll Circular in the Peak District. This 6.9km loop starts and finishes in Edale, climbing a steep track through Grindsbrook before descending back to the village, where several country pubs await. It holds a 4.7-star rating across almost a thousand reviews.
Third is the Flamborough Coastal Circuit in the East Riding of Yorkshire, rated 4.7 stars across 522 reviews. This 17.5km walk is rated "hard" and takes around four and a half to five hours, passing Flamborough Head lighthouse before finishing back in the village.
