A first-time Swiss Air passenger has described receiving free water and chocolate on a short-haul flight to Zurich, a gesture she said made her want to fly with the airline again.
Writing for the Liverpool ECHO, Emily Sleight said she usually flies with Ryanair and was not expecting anything special. However, stepping on board the aircraft to Zurich, she noticed the plane felt more spacious than others she had travelled on, with an interactive flight map at the corner of each row. She had also secured the extra legroom seat.
Free water and chocolate on board
About halfway through the one-and-a-half-hour flight, a flight attendant handed her a free bottle of water, which she initially thought she would have to pay for. The attendant also left a bottle for the sleeping passenger next to her.
Later, staff handed out a mystery basket containing small bars of Swiss chocolate, which she described as the best inflight snack. She noted she had never experienced such freebies on a short-haul flight before, only on long hauls.
Booking another flight
The freebies became a talking point with friends and family, and she has booked to fly with Swiss Air again in October. She said a one-way flight to Zurich that month is priced at £81, which she considered reasonable.
