Red Arrows Not at Blackpool Airshow 2026, But Southport Beckons
Red Arrows Skip Blackpool Airshow 2026, Southport Next

The Red Arrows will not be performing at the Blackpool Airshow this year, but enthusiasts can catch them at the Southport Airshow later in August.

Blackpool Airshow 2026 Details

Blackpool Airshow returns this weekend, on Saturday August 8 and Sunday August 9, with two days of spectacular aerial displays above the Lancashire coast. Thousands of spectators are expected to line the shore to see some of the world’s top military and civilian aircraft.

The event is completely free to attend. Among the aircraft taking to the skies is the RAF Typhoon, recognisable by the blast of noise from its two Rolls Royce engines. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also return, including the iconic Spitfire, Hurricane, and Dakota aircraft.

Aircraft and Displays

Other highlights include the MiG-17, originally developed during the Cold War, and a line-up of US fighter jets such as the P-47 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang, and the legendary Spitfire. The Red Devils display team, composed of 15 highly skilled paratroopers, will perform impressive formations and adrenaline-fueled freefall manoeuvres. Aerobatics wingwalkers will also deliver gravity-defying stunts.

Red Arrows at Southport

Sadly, the Red Arrows will not be at Blackpool this year. However, they will perform at the Southport Airshow on Saturday August 29 and Sunday August 30. Unlike Blackpool, Southport is not free, with general admission tickets starting from £13.

Visitors to Blackpool can also explore the Air Show Village, open from 12pm to 7pm each day along the promenade and on the Tower Festival Headland, featuring traders, vendors, exhibits, and food and drink stalls.
