Nook cafe bar on Heaton Moor Road in Stockport is closing after 12 years, with owners citing an "increasing number of restrictions from the council" and a sharp drop in bookings.
Farewell weekend and 50% off
The venue, known for craft beer, specialty coffee and live music, announced the closure on social media, saying it was "time to say goodbye." Customers are invited for "one last weekend to celebrate" on Saturday evening (August 8), with "50% off everything" from 11.30pm.
In a statement on Instagram, the owners wrote: "Time to say goodbye… As many of you know, we've faced an increasing number of restrictions from the council over recent years. From the removal of our tipis to limitations on music and reduced operating hours in our back garden, these changes have had a significant impact on our business."
Bookings fall by half
"As a result, we've seen our bookings fall by more than 50% compared with previous years. Combined with the ever-rising costs facing the hospitality industry, we've reached the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors."
The owners thanked customers, especially regulars, for their loyalty and support over the past 12 years, adding: "We'd love for you to join us for one last weekend to celebrate everything we've shared together. To say thank you, we're offering 50% off everything."
